Thomas Neidenmark is a policy officer at the Open Science Unit, in the Directorate-General Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission. Thomas is mainly involved in the Governance of EOSC and the mapping of national initiatives of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), as well as in the Open Science policy development of the Commission. Thomas is a Seconded National Expert from the Ministry of Education and Research in Sweden. Since 1 March 2019, he works exclusively with EOSC and Open Science policy at the Commission.

In his previous work, Thomas has since 2011 been engaged in developing services and policies for Open Science, such as the establishment of the Open Access publisher Stockholm University Press at Stockholm University. At the Ministry of Education and Research his work was focused on Open Science policy. Key areas of interest are monitoring open science, analysing policy development, data driven research, e-infrastructures, and the bridging FAIR data objects to (open) innovation. Thomas has a PhD in History of Education from Stockholm University.
