Strategies to bring about cultural and policy change for OS in Higher Education Institutes – A discussion-based workshop: 24th June 10AM CEST

  • By Rosie Allison

The INOS (https://inos-project.eu/) Stakeholder Consultation Workshop aims to discuss strategies for cultural and policy change for Open and Citizen Science in HEIs, through a structured discussion with key stakeholders, on Friday 24th at 10AM-12PM.

The results of this discussion will be used for the development of a final Vision and Policy Recommendations document, which ultimately aims to create recommendations that will be adopted by HEIs, and encourage policy change by raising awareness of the societal impact of open and citizen science inside and outside HEIs.

The discussion will be based on current INOS outputs in which strategies for cultural and policy change have been recommended. These outputs are summarised in the attached Factsheet.

Participants will be given a chance for a structured discussion on how to best bring about the advancement of OS and CS, including:
- HE curricula development for academic and library staff and researchers taking into account interdisciplinarity
- alternative learning and training models
- synergies and gaps on skills building for different groups
- incentives for cultural and policy change.
