Exploring cooperation opportunities between HPC & EOSC: a survey for HPC projects

13 Feb 2020

The interaction between High-Performance Computing and the European Open Science Cloud is a crucial element of the European Data Infrastructure, and reflections about this relationship have been consistently featured throughout 2019 at relevant events such as the EOSC-hub Week and the EOSC Symposium.

Building upon the increasing interest surrounding the connections linking HPC initiatives and the EOSC, EOSCSecretariat.eu has created a brief 5 minute online form to investigate the current landscape of European HPC projects including the Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in relation to the EOSC.

This form is centred around the HPC projects which could contribute to the various services EOSC will offer on the road to its implementation. It will identify both present and potential areas for cooperation, analysing the specific fields of expertise, the different target users, and the range of activities that each HPC initiative is or will be engaging with. The form is designed with a user-friendly structure and is relatively short, it can be completed by the 6th of March 2020.

The results of the survey will then be collected into a unique EOSC & HPC report to be delivered to the EOSC Executive and Governing Boards. The report will also be circulated at the EuroHPC Summit held in Porto from the 23rd to 27th of March 2020, a key event for all European HPC initiatives. Do not miss out on the opportunity to contribute to the EOSC Governance.
